DR.CAROLA FLEENER was born and raised in South America and received her M.D. degree at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela. As her family is originally from Sarasota, she and her husband Jim and their three children moved back to this area in 1984. Carola was in the Pediatric training program at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg before joining the Sarasota Children’s Clinic. She is a member of the American Association of Physicians Specialists, American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Sarasota County Medical Society. She is board certified in Family Practice by the American Board of Physicians Specialists. She is active in the Sarasota County Medical Society and is very involved with family and community activities here in Sarasota. She loves being a Grandmother! Dr. BARBARA X. FLEENER is a graduate of Washington University’s Pediatric training program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She received her medical degree at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and is also a graduate of Florida State University where she obtained honors in music. Dr. Barbara was born in Venezuela and grew up in Sarasota where she attended Pineview School. Her professional affiliations include American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Sarasota County Medical Society, and Florida Medical Association. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Barbara is very dedicated to the concept of general pediatric care and the doctor-patient continuity it provides. She loves children and is bringing the latest in Pediatric knowledge and practice to the Sarasota Children’s Clinic. She is excited to be a part of this team.
LISA ANN BERNARD, A.R.N.P. Lisa began at our practice as an LPN 13 years ago then returned to school, completed the RN program at Manatee Community College in June of 2001. Lisa went on to graduate with a Master’s Degree in Nursing Science at the University of South Florida in May of 2004. She is currently nationally certified and involved with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and is a Certified Lactation Counselor. She is a caring provider who is focused on children and she enjoys nurturing the parents. In fulfilling her role as Nurse Practitioner, she can provide top-notch medical care to our patients, providing them with extra attention. Lisa says she “enjoys a challenge and meeting the needs of our little people brings long term fulfillment both personally and professionally.” She brings with her years of combined medical experience to the practice and we are happy to have her on board.
